BASF contests $250 million punitive damage award in US dicamba case

A US federal judge will give BASF an opportunity to convince him that the company should not be liable for any of the $250 million in punitive damages awarded by a federal jury to a Missouri farmer who alleged that his peach orchard was severely damaged by dicamba herbicides.
