BASF agchem sales up 18% in Q2
A good season in North America and Europe raised BASF's agrochemical sales by 17.7% to €1,727 million ($2,254 million at the current rate) in the second quarter of 2013. Revenues were also boosted by the acquisition of Becker Underwood (Agrow No 654, p 2). Portfolio changes and higher prices each raised sales by 3%, while volumes added 14%. These gains were partly offset by a 2% adverse currency effect.
