Chemtura AgroSolutions sales up 21% in Q2
Higher sales in North America, Latin America and China boosted Chemtura AgroSolutions' revenues by 20.5% to $135 million in the second quarter of 2013. The company pointed to the record performance when it issued preliminary figures last month (Agrow No 669, p 7). Growth was led by the North American region, where there was strong demand for Chemtura's acaricides, the company points out. Sales in Europe were comparable to those in the same period last year following "unseasonably wet conditions", Chemtura notes. The overall $23 million sales increase included a $21 million gain from greater volumes and $3 million from higher prices, partly offset by a $1 million adverse currency effect.
