Canada to end some mancozeb uses

The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) proposes to phase out certain uses of the ethylene bisdithiocarbamate (EBDC) fungicide, mancozeb, because of concerns over risks to human health and the environment. Most uses of the fungicide do not pose concerns, but the Agency calls for an end to seed treatments for maize, wheat, barley and flaxseed (linseed), as well as potato seed piece treatments and applications to apples, pears, grapevines and greenhouse tomatoes.
