Monsanto acquires parts of Dieckmann seed business
Monsanto has acquired the oilseed rape and rye seed divisions and the maize and sunflower seed distribution operations of German seed company Dieckmann (Nienstädt). The acquired operations have been transferred to the newly formed subsidiary, Monsanto Seeds. Monsanto intends to continue the current operation of these units unchanged. The company recently reaffirmed its commitment to the European seed business, while dropping applications for genetically modified crops (Agrow No 669, p 2).
