Japanese import approval for Syngenta's Duracade stacks

Syngenta has received Japanese import approval for its genetically modified insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant Agrisure Duracade 5122 and Agrisure Duracade 5222 maize trait stacks. Agrisure Duracade 5122 combines Duracade (5307 - Bt eCry3.1Ab) and Agrisure RW (MIR604 - mCry3A) for corn rootworm (Diabrotica spp) control with Agrisure CB/LL (Bt11 - Cry1Ab) and Dow AgroSciences/DuPont's Herculex (1507 - Cry1F) for lepidopteran pests as well as GA21 for glyphosate tolerance. Agrisure Duracade 5222 comprises 5122 plus Agrisure Viptera (MIR162 - Vip3Aa20). The company has introduced 24 maize hybrids with these traits in the US for the 2014 season (Agrow No 670, p 34). In addition to Japan, Syngenta has import approvals in Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan and cultivation approval in Canada.
