Bayer sues Commission on insecticide suspensions
Bayer CropScience has launched legal action against the European Commission contesting its suspension of two of Bayer's neonicotinoid insecticides, clothianidin and imidacloprid. The action is separate from that also filed this month by Syngenta contesting the suspension of its thiamothexam products (see this issue). Bayer filed its case at the EU's General on August 19th. The General Court is a constituent court of the European Court of Justice. "We believe that the decision of the Commission is unjustified, disproportionate and goes beyond the existing regulatory framework," Bayer told Agrow.
