EU approvals amended for two low-risk ais
EU approvals for two active ingredients, the herbicide, acetic acid, and the insecticide, pyrethrins, will be subject to specific conditions from January 1st 2014, following the completion of a full assessment by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The two ais gained EU approval in 2009 under a faster procedure for low-risk substances (Agrow No 560, p 8). This allowed approvals to be granted before the EFSA had completed its peer review of the evaluations. The EFSA submitted the two review reports to the European Commission in December 2012.
