Syngenta expands capacity for S-metolachlor
Syngenta has completed a "significant production capacity expansion" for the herbicide, S-metolachlor, at its facility in Kaisten, Switzerland. The expansion started last year and has increased the company's production capacity for the selective herbicide by 40%. It is used in Syngenta's brands such as Dual Gold, Lumax, Lexar, Camix and Halex GT. S-metolachlor has proven to be a critical tool in managing weeds that are increasingly difficult to control with post-emergent applications, Syngenta says. "This capacity expansion for S-metolachlor ensures that we are well equipped to respond to increasing demand in a market that continues to expand," says the company's head of global asset and platform management, Rob Neill.
