UK MRL violations down to 2% in 2012

Violations of pesticide maximum residue limits (MRLs) fell to 2% in the UK last year, according to results of the annual pesticide monitoring study on food samples. That was down  from 3% in 2011 (Agrow No 655, p 11). A total of 3,657 samples of 46 commodities were tested for various pesticides in 2012, resulting in over 786,587 food and pesticide combinations.
