Brazil approves BASF's Xemium
Brazil has granted sale and use authorisation for BASF's carboxamide fungicide, fluxapyroxad (trade-marked as Xemium). It is the first carboxamide fungicide to be approved in Brazil. The company is to market its first fluxapyroxad-based product, in combination with pyraclostrobin (trade-marked as F500), as Orkestra. It is a suspension concentrate formulation for use on soybeans to control Asian soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi). Orkestra can be used as a resistance management tool, and will be sold under BASF's AgCelence brand providing benefits beyond crop protection such as improved plant health, the company says. The active ingredient's approval covers several other diseases on some 20 crops.
