Helm first-half agchem sales up 67%
German chemical company Helm (Hamburg) recorded a 67% increase in first-half agrochemical sales to $172 million. Growth was driven by increased volumes and higher prices mainly in Latin America and the US. Latin America, where Helm started its crop protection business ten years ago, remained the company's most important region with sales of $92.4 million. Revenues from the US jumped four fold (319%) to $51.9 million. The company's current focus is on successful development in Europe, mainly in France, Germany, Italy and Poland.
