First approval for New Zealand minor-use scheme
Dow AgroSciences' insecticide, Prodigy (methoxyfenozide), has become the first pesticide to be registered under a minor-use scheme in New Zealand. The product has been approved for the control of leafrollers on blueberries under the Ministry of Primary Industries' (MPI) Sustainable Farming Fund (SFF) project, "Registration of sustainable agrichemicals for minor crops". The project brings together 12 grower groups, agrochemical companies and the MPI. Funding of more than NZ$1,170 million (US$969 million ) is aimed at streamlining the approval of agrochemicals for minor crops.
