Demand for biotech to escalate in Brazil
Brazilian agriculture will become increasingly dependent on the applications of biotechnology, the agricultural research corporation, the Embrapa, reports. It attended the national confederation of industry and Harvard Business Review's recent 2nd Bioeconomy Forum held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. A wide-ranging report was produced: "Bioeconomy, an agenda for Brazil". It included genetically modified crops among a broad palette of technologies from assisted animal and plant reproduction to germplasm conservation as priorities for public policymakers to incentivise Brazilian industry.
