Syngenta's agchem sales up 8% in Q3
Higher sales in all regions boosted Syngenta's crop protection sales by 8.4% to $2,308 million in the third quarter of 2013. Revenues grew by about 11% at constant exchange rates (CER). The company's herbicide business posted double-digit gains, while there were more modest increases for seed treatments and fungicides. Insecticide sales dropped slightly. "The third-quarter performance demonstrates our ability to sustain growth across our business in a context of crop price and currency volatility," says Syngenta's chief executive officer, Mike Mack.
