Bayer upgrades US facilities
Bayer CropScience is to invest $33 million in the renovation of its US facilities in Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina. The project, which is scheduled for completion in 2015, will allow the company to accommodate substantial growth and bring more of its employees together over the next decade, Bayer points out. The completed facilities will eventually house more than 700 employees. The office renovation marks the latest in a series of investments at the RTP site. Bayer moved its global seed business headquarters from France to RTP and opened a $20 million BioScience research facility there last year (Agrow No 645, p 3). The company recently purchased 70 acres (28 ha) of land for $6.2 million to allow for further expansion of the facilities at RTP.
