Extended EU approvals for four ais
A further four active ingredients are to have their EU approvals extended by 16-18 months to allow more time for procedures to be completed for the renewal of authorisations. The ais are: the insecticide, clothianidin; the fungicide, dimoxystrobin; the insecticide/nematicide, oxamyl; and the herbicide, pethoxamid. Their approvals were due to expire between July 31st 2016 and September 30th 2016. A European Commission proposal to extend all the expiry dates to January 31st 2018 was supported by the EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health at its October meeting.
