UK launches Agri-Tech Catalyst
The UK Technology Strategy Board and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council have started a £70 million ($112 million) Agri-Tech Catalyst to help commercialise UK agricultural innovation. It is part of the UK Strategy for Agricultural Technologies, which was launched in July (Agrow No 669, p 13). The Agri-Tech Catalyst offers funding for collaborative projects, taking innovative ideas from any sector or discipline with the potential to provide an economic boost to the UK agricultural technology industry, by tackling challenges in agriculture. It will help take innovations from concept to commercialisation, awarding grants for early-stage pre-industrial research feasibility studies, industrial research, and late-stage pre-experimental and experimental feasibility studies. Any UK business or academic researcher can apply.
