EU approval conditions to change for five ais
Further risk mitigation measures, including use restrictions in some cases, are to be added to the existing EU approvals for five active ingredients. For three ais, the herbicides, bifenox and dichlorprop-P, and the nematicide/insecticide, ethoprophos, the changes follow the assessment of additional data. Approval conditions of the remaining two "low-risk" ais, the insecticides/acaracides, kieselgur (diatomaceous earth) and rapeseed oil, will be amended following completion of final peer reviews of their evaluations. The proposed changes were voted through by the EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health at its October meeting. They require formal confirmation from the European Commission before coming into force.
