Expanded US approval for Certis spinosad baits

Mitsui & Co subsidiary Certis USA (Columbia, Maryland) has received expanded US approval for its spinosad-based insecticide baits, Seduce and Bug-N-Sluggo, for the control of ants around trees and vines. The approvals allow the use of the baits on 50,000 acres (20,235 ha) of organic trees and vines that previously had no effective ant controls, the company points out. Spinosad is manufactured for Certis USA by the German company, W Neudorff, under a licensing agreement with Dow AgroSciences.
