FMC agchem sales up 25% in Q3

A strong start to the Latin American season boosted FMC's agrochemical sales by 25.2% to $530.2 million in the third quarter of 2013. Sales in the region rose significantly, reflecting a rebound in cotton acreage, increased soybean plantings and growth from newly introduced products, the company points out. Direct sales efforts contributed to growth in Asia, but weaker pest pressure resulted in reduced demand for rescue insecticide treatments in North America.
