US approval for DuPont's Aproach Prima

DuPont has received US approval for the combination fungicide, Aproach Prima (picoxystrobin 200 g/litre + cyproconazole 80 g/litre), for use on soybeans, maize and wheat. It will be introduced for the 2014 season. The combination of a strobilurin and a triazole active ingredient will help manage fungicide-resistant diseases, the company points out. It is recommended for use at 3.4-6.8 fl oz/acre (0.2-0.5 litre/ha) for the control of a range of diseases such as rusts, mildews and leaf blights. DuPont received US approval for picoxystrobin, as Aproach, for use on soybeans, maize, small-grain cereals, beans and canola in late 2012 (Agrow No 655, p 20).
