WHO endorses Bayer/IVCC mosquito spray

Bayer CropScience and the not-for-profit UK vector control company, Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC – Liverpool, Merseyside), have received a recommendation from the UN WHO for their co-developed deltamethrin-based indoor insecticide spray for the control of malaria-spreading mosquitoes. The WHO's pesticide evaluation scheme (WHOPES) has issued the recommendation for a new polymer-enhanced formulation of deltamethrin, which offers residual effectiveness for six months, Bayer says.
