Brazil agchem market accelerates above a 30% rise
Growth in the Brazilian agrochemical market is accelerating beyond the strong advance earlier in the year when measured in the national currency. Sales rose by a third (+34%) in the first seven months of the year compared with the same period in 2012, and by almost half (+42)% in the month of July, according to the agrochemical industry trade association, the Sindiveg (previously called the Sindag). Seven-month revenues hit R$8,435 million (US$3,862 million at the current rate). The market came up just short of R$1,800 million (US$824 million) in July. Growth in the first quarter was recorded at 22% (Agrow No 666, p 19).
