Monsanto expands Romanian seed processing facility
Monsanto has doubled the processing and conditioning capacity of its seed facility in Sinesti, Romania, Black Sea regional consultancy UkrAgroConsult reports. The company has invested €27 million ($36 million) in the expansion, allowing the plant to produce some 2.7 million units – each of 50,000 kernel bags. The capacity can deliver seed for 2 million ha. The investment takes Monsanto's total spending at the complex to €140 million ($187 million at the current rate) over eight years.
