Canada to renew paclobutrazol approval
The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) proposes the continued registration of the plant growth regulator, paclobutrazol, subject to certain label changes. The PMRA has re-evaluated the active ingredient and concluded that it does not pose unacceptable risks to human health or the environment when used according to label instructions. The Agency requires revised personal protective equipment for workers and additional advisory label statements to reduce potential surface water contamination. No further data are required. The proposed decision was open to public comment until November 15th.
