BASF debuts Orkestra in Brazil
BASF has launched its fungicide, Orkestra (fluxapyroxad + pyraclostrobin - trade-marked as Xemium and F500, respectively) in Brazil. The suspension concentrate formulation is recommended as a preventive control against Asian soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi). Fluxapyroxad was approved as a new active ingredient just prior to this planting season (Agrow No 674, p 24). Orkestra can be used as a resistance management tool, and will be sold under BASF's AgCelence brand as providing benefits beyond crop protection such as improved plant health. The company is building a formulation plant in Brazil for fluxapyroxad products (Agrow No 666, p 2).
