Oregon moves to protect bees from pesticides

The US state Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) has imposed new restrictions on two neonicotinoid insecticides to protect bees and other pollinators. The rules modify existing state labels for dinoterfuran and imidacloprid, prohibiting use of either pesticide on linden, basswood and other Tilia spp trees. The labels will enter into effect in 2014.
