Solvay to acquire Brazilian agchem business
Belgian chemical company Solvay (Brussels) has agreed to acquire specialty chemical assets of Italian company Erca's Brazilian subsidiary, Erca Quimica (Itatiba), including its pesticide business. The deal will introduce Solvay's Novecare business into the Brazilian agrochemical market, the company says. It "will give Solvay the scalability to expand further to meeting growing demand". The agreement is subject to clearance from the Brazilian competition authorities.
