Syngenta debuts potato fungicide mix in UK

Syngenta has launched a potato fungicide in the UK based on two established active ingredients. Amphore Plus (mandipropamid 250 g/litre + difenoconazole 250 g/litre) is a suspension concentrate formulation for the control of early blight (Alternaria solani) and late blight (Phytophthora infestans). It is the only product that is highly effective against late blight while controlling all strains of early blight, the company points out. Syngenta gained UK approval for mandipropamid, as Revus, for use on potatoes and a range of vegetables in 2007. It has sold difenoconazole in several products for use on cereals, fruit, vegetables and other crops for some years, but it is new to the potato market, Syngenta notes.
