Brazil delays decisions on Dow GM crops
Registration decisions in Brazil of several Dow AgroSciences' genetically modified 2,4-D herbicide-tolerant maize and soybean lines is over one year behind schedule, official news agency Agencia Brasil reports. It cites Dr Flavio Finardi of the technical commission for biosafety, the CTNBio. He adds that no deadline has been set for a commission vote on their approval. Four such GM maize and soybean events were on December's agenda for a vote on an approval recommendation to government. All were withdrawn from the agenda at the meeting.
