BASF and Dow partner John Deere on application technology
Dow AgroSciences and BASF have separately entered into agreements with the farm equipment manufacturer, John Deere, to develop technology to aid site-specific product applications. Both companies will access the "MyJohnDeere" information platform for managing equipment and production data. Dow says that the arrangement will allow its customers to take full advantage of its products through "optimal placement" based on a farmer's field conditions. BASF will offer a new service for field scouting and agronomic decision support. It plans to integrate BASF's agronomic expertise with John Deere's application knowledge, with the first integrated tools to be launched by the end of 2014.
