Sixth Brazil state may import emamectin for earworm control
A sixth Brazilian state has been approved for emergency treatment including the use of an unapproved insecticide for the control of corn earworms (Helicoverpa spp). The Ministry of Agriculture has added Mato Grosso do Sul to five other states including the main soybean-growing state, Mato Grosso, to its list of states under a state of phytosanitary emergency (Agrow No 677, p 17). Such states may follow special control measures. They include the import from certain countries of emamectin benzoate insecticides.
