FMC's Anthem herbicide OK'd in US for soybeans
FMC has received extended US approval for use of its herbicide, Anthem (Kumiai Chemical's pyroxasulfone + fluthiacet-methyl), on soybeans. The product was registered for use on maize in late 2012 (Agrow No 652, p 25). It offers maize and soybean growers control of broadleaf weeds and grasses with flexible application timing up to 45 days pre-plant, pre-emergence and early post-emergence, the company points out. "With one-tank flexibility from corn to soybeans, growers can now take advantage of the benefits of Anthem directly from one field to the next, without cleaning the sprayer and switching to a different product," says FMC Agricultural Solutions' North America marketing director, Aaron Locker.
