EU approval expiry to change for three ais

The European Commission is to remove extensions to approval expiry dates for the herbicides, ethoxysulfuron and oxadiargyl, and the rodenticide, warfarin, because no applications to renew the approvals were submitted by the required deadline. The existing approvals for the three active ingredients will now expire on March 31st 2014. In 2012, they were among a group of ais granted extensions to July 31st 2016 to give more time for companies to meet renewal procedure deadlines (Agrow No 645, p 10). The Commission's proposals were voted through by the EU regulatory committee late last year and will come into force after publication in the EU Official Journal.
