China drafts final agchem approvals for 2013
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has issued a draft of its eighth and final list of agrochemical manufacturing approvals for 2013. The draft list contains 234 approvals, which are usually valid for two years, and was published for industry consultation for one week in early January. Over one third (81) of the draft approvals were for companies based in the country's eastern coastal province of Jiangsu. Jiangsu led the country in terms of production for both fungicides (6,299 tonnes) and insecticides (17,932 tonnes) in November last year (Agrow No 679, p 24).
