BASF's Zidua OK'd for US wheat
BASF has received expanded US approval for its herbicide, Zidua (Kumiai Chemical's pyroxasulfone 85%), for use on spring and winter wheat. The product was registered for use on maize in 2012 (Agrow No 643, p 18) and soybeans last year (Agrow No 661, p 24). Zidua is recommended for use on wheat as a delayed pre-emergence or post-emergence application for long-lasting residual control of weeds such as Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum), annual bluegrass (Poa annua) and canarygrass (Phalaris canariensis). It also suppresses many grass and broadleaf weeds, BASF notes.
