Syngenta seeks to import Solvigo to New Zealand
Syngenta has applied to the New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority to import the insecticide, Solvigo (abamectin + thiamethoxam), for the control of insect pests on onions. The active ingredients are already approved for use in New Zealand in various products. As Solivigo is toxic to bees, Syngenta warns that it should not be applied to flowering crops or where bees are actively foraging. The application is open to public comment until March 13th.
