Obsolete pesticides collected in Canada
Farmers in the Canadian province of Alberta disposed of 35.8 tonnes of obsolete or unwanted pesticides in 2013. Collections were made at 19 retailer locations in October 2013 through the industry's CleanFarms waste stewardship organisation. More than 305 tonnes of pesticides have been turned in by farmers since the programme started in Alberta in 2002. Collections generally take place every three years.
