Argentina OKs Dow’s Enlist soybeans
The Argentine agricultural biotechnology assessor commission, the Conabia, has recommended the commercial approval of Dow AgroSciences' genetically modified herbicide-tolerant Enlist E3 (DAS44406) soybeans. The recommendation has been made to the Ministry of Agriculture. It has yet to decide to ratify the approval. The soybeans are tolerant to the herbicides, 2,4-D, glyphosate and glufosinate-ammonium. It would become the country’s sixth approved GM soybean for sale and use. Neighbouring Brazil has delayed decisions on approving the product over concerns of the line's safety (Agrow No 679, p 16).
