Iharabras not to pay UPL legal costs in Brazil as it appeals
Brazilian agrochemical company Iharabras (Sorocaba) has not been ordered to pay legal costs to United Phosphorus (UPL) as reported online last week in Agrow. The courts dismissed an indemnity claim by UPL against Iharabras in July last year, the company told Agrow. The report refers to a legal dispute over UPL's version of acetamiprid insecticide, Battus. A federal court recently found that the differences between UPL's Battus and Iharabras' Mospilan were "irrelevant", citing the advised use of protective equipment, and denied Iharabras' request for the suspension of the product's sale on health grounds.
