China's Zhejiang province sees continued agchem growth

Agrochemical output in the Chinese province of Zhejiang was up 6% in 2013, reaching an annual total of 234,121 tonnes, reports the China Crop Protection Industry Association. The province mainly manufactured herbicides, for which annual production increased by 4% to some 187,794 tonnes. Insecticide output was up by over a quarter (28%) to 26,514 tonnes, while fungicide production fell 4% to 15,192 tonnes. Plant growth regulator (PGR) output increased by 5% to 3,266 tonnes. Zhejiang was the third-largest pesticide producing region in China for 2013, behind Shandong and Jiangsu provinces (Agrow No 681, p 19).
