Illegal agchem seizures more than double in Brazil
Seizures of illegal pesticides more than doubled to 34.7 tonnes in Brazil last year, according to the agrochemical industry trade association, the Sindiveg. That remains well below the 2011 high of 54.5 tonnes. The association notes that the haul accounts for a "small" proportion of the 900,000 tonnes traded in a year, although last year's figures have yet to be released. However, the growth is a concern to companies that wish "to avoid the rise becoming a trend".
