Argentina wants to extend agbiotech use
The Argentine Minister of Agriculture met with agricultural biotechnology leaders committing itself to strengthening its support for the sector "and promote innovative scientific projects". Minister Carlos Casamiquela says his office is working on "the need to bring biotechnology to all growers who need it". He believes that its "“vitality" should be integrated into "all branches" of Argentina's agricultural production. The parties discussed Argentine company Bioceres' development of drought-resistant maize, soybean and wheat products.
