Huapont-Nutrichem up 17% in 2013
Chinese chemical company Huapont-Nutrichem recorded agrochemical sales of Yuan 3,530 million ($577.8 million at the current rate) in 2013, an increase of 16.8% on the previous year. Huapont entered the pesticide market when it took control of Nutrichem International in 2010, and the joint entity subsequently became China’s largest pesticide company in terms of annual sales (Agrow No 675, p 19). Profit for the agrochemical division reached Yuan 212 million ($34.7 million) during the year. Sales of its leading herbicide product, which is referred to by codename only, amounted to Yuan 384 million ($62.9 million), up 27.1% on 2012.
