Amvac debuts bifenthrin product for US maize
American Vanguard subsidiary Amvac Chemical has introduced the liquid soil insecticide, Xpedient FC (bifenthrin), in the US for the control of secondary maize pests. It protects maize from grubs, seed corn maggots, wireworms and other soil pests, the company points out. The product is formulated as a true solution rather than a suspension, resulting in uniform applications and little or no separation when mixed with fertilisers, Amvac notes. The company has sold bifenthrin as Discipline for the past decade and requested an alternative name from the EPA late last year. Amvac sells a range of granular maize insecticides, including SmartChoice (chlorethoxyfos + bifenthrin).
