EU phase-out dates set for potassium iodide/thiocyanate

The European Commission has instructed EU member states to withdraw existing provisional approvals for the fungicides, potassium thiocyanate and potassium iodide, by August 26th and 27th, respectively. A grace period of up to August 26th/27th 2015 is allowed to use up remaining product stocks. The EU evaluation process has been halted following a decision by Dutch bioproducts company Koppert to withdraw its applications for EU approval (Agrow No 680, p 8). Both active ingredients hold provisional approvals in Belgium and the Netherlands.
