UN FAO surveys GMOs in international trade
A survey by the UN FAO has found that 26 countries have blocked imports of food or feed because of the presence of low levels of genetically modified crops. The first survey of its kind found that 198 incidents of low levels of GM crops mixed into non-GM crops were reported between 2002 and 2012. There was a jump in cases between 2009 and 2012, when 138 of the 198 incidents were reported. The FAO based its findings on a questionnaire sent to 193 countries, of which 75 responded.
