Certis USA/Summit Agro Mexico marketing deal
Mitsui & Co subsidiary Certis USA (Columbia, Maryland) has granted exclusive marketing rights for eight biopesticides in Mexico to Sumitomo Corporation subsidiary Summit Agro Mexico. The deal includes the fungicide/bactericide, Double Nickel 55 (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain D747), which recently received approval in Mexico. It was introduced in the US in 2012 under a global licensing deal with Kumiai Chemical (Agrow No 634, p 19). Other products in the Mexican deal are: the Bt-based bioinsecticides, Able, Crymax and Javelin, the copper octonoate-based bactericide/fungicide, Cueva; the azadirachtin-based products, Neemix and Trilogy; and the biofungicide, Soilgard (Gliocladium virens GL-21). The companies have also agreed to co-operate on the development of the soil conditioner, Regensoil, in the US.
