DuPont expands African seed R&D facility
DuPont unveiled the expansion of a seed research facility in Delmas, South Africa, last month. It will serve as the core of DuPont Africa’s regional technology centre, the company says. DuPont wants to accelerate seed product development for the continent’s farmers. The facility will “serve as the central hub” of the regional technology centre, which is comprised of a network of existing DuPont Pioneer and Pannar Seed research facilities and testing locations throughout Africa. The move forms part of the deal that resulted in DuPont’s acquisition of South African seed business Pannar Seed last year (Agrow No 670, p 13).
